Ann L. Hoover received her J.D. with honors from Washburn University of Topeka in 1977. Upon graduation, she held the positions of Research Attorney and Administrative Attorney to the Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court.
Ms. Hoover then became In-House Corporate Counsel to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka. While at the bank, she worked in both supervisory and advisory capacities with savings and loan associations throughout the states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma in the areas of banking, securities, employment discrimination and labor law. She entered the private practice of law in 1980 and handles both civil litigation and appellate matters. Her firm provides a full range of services to clients in the general practice of law.
Her professional associations include membership in the American Bar Association (Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the Tort and Insurance Practice Section), Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association (Professional Ethics-Advisory Committee), Topeka Bar Association (Public Relations Committee, Chairperson), Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, United States Supreme Court Historical Society and Kansas Association of Defense Counsel. She is active on the Defense Research Institute Lawyers Professionalism and Ethics Committee and serves as one of two attorney liaisons from the state of Kansas to the Committee. She has completed training and been approved by the state of Kansas in basic civil mediation.
Ms. Hoover serves as a Hearing Officer for the State of Kansas, Division of Workers Compensation. She is a frequent lecturer at institutes and seminars. She helped formulate the state-wide Legacy and Planned Giving Program for the Kansas Division of the American Cancer Society.
She is licensed to practice law in both Kansas and Missouri.
